For the past years, i have been waiting for a rock concert like Avril’s to happen. And i was MORE THAN HAPPY TO KNOW SHE’S COMING! TO MALAYSIA! 29TH AUGUST. STADIUM MERDEKA.

She may not be my FAVOURITE ARTIST of all time.. but i DO love ALL HER SONGS. Heck, i even know how to sing every line of her songs ever since she came out with Complicated.

And the fact that Her concert is going to be the same day as Adrian’s Birthday.. i told adrian that IM SO SORRY but AVRIL IS MORE IMPORTANT ok.. T__T It’s like a LIFETIME opportunity to even catch a glimpse of her ESPECIALLY RIGHT HERE IN MALAYSIA.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 — Pas has demanded the government ban pop superstar Avril Lavigne from performing in the country, saying that it would insult the Merdeka freedom fighters.

Kuala Lumpur Pas Youth chief Kamaruzaman Mohamad said the government should instead hold patriotic and civilised concerts as well as organise history-writing contests and historical exhibitions in conjunction with the 51st anniversary of the country’s independence.

On Saturday, Federal Territory PAS Youth chief Kamaruzaman Mohamed handed over a memorandum to Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Hakim Borhan and the Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Ministry calling for a ban on the concert.

The PAS wing is asking the authorities to ban the show because “rock and punk is not suitable for the young generation and especially so during Merdeka month.”

KUALA LUMPUR: The Avril Lavigne concert in Stadium Merdeka, here, on Aug 29 has been cancelled.

Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Shafie Apdal said that the concert falls during the nation’s independence period and was not a suitable time to hold such a concert.

There are a lot of events on Aug 29 and the Ministry does not want the independence and the near Ramadan month to be filled with such pop and rock culture, he said.

“As the Minister of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage, we should be instilling good culture in the young but here we are allowing other parties to organise things,” he said Wednesday after launching the IDeAS for enhancing Integrity book.

Dammit i watch Fool’s Gold yesterday thanks to Sue, my colleague. Well, im always a  fan of kate hudson because i think she’s cute and cool in a way. Matthew Mcconaughey was a ok, i don’t think he is hunky but he do have a hunky body and accent.

My point is… DAMMIT. the movie was filmed in Bahamas and altho i have shaken off that “I WANT TO GO TO THE BEACH” feeling the movie just brings it all back. damn. i so want a beach getaway NOW. like.. urh… blue skies, blue ocean, blue bikini… roar.

Anyhoo, the movie made me felt like it was continued from How to lose a guy in 10 days, the way they go “Bullshit” with each other. That’s just so them lah. And how they’d spontaneously have sex in the library and a church wtf =.= .. SO EXCITING RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT?… i think they should get married lah. so chan like that.

Actually i watch a lot of movies lately so let me just go all out on the spoilers lah

Incredible HULK. urgh. Liv tyler is not as hawt as she used to be already. But i still think she looks elegant albeit being quite plum. The movie was a ok la. Nothing fancy Nothing WAHH… but the ending where Mr Stark appears just makes me wonder what are they up to. 

SEX IN THE CITY~ If you have not watch the series before, you’d go HUH in the movie. But thank gawd im a SITC freak so SITC movie was actually a ALL IN ONE SEASON 7 FINALE to the whole series la. Dint know that samantha is 50 OMG. and the part where she waited for Smith with sushi all over her was just so … funny lah. And actually i think Carrie is always overdressed wherever she goes. I mean, maybe it’s new york.. but still.. ebit too much lah.

Look at carrie on the left. That flower is so damn big lah. I think i will only dare to wear this in a photoshoot but definately not outdoors strutting downtown like that. But the black dress charlotte wore is so funny. haha..

Alright. what else.

Made of honour! So funny before i watch this movie Cherrie actually said i resemble Michelle Monaghan and i was like.. HUH??? NOOO…. but then later i found out that she meant her personality because i’m always happy and smiling and happy and smiling no matter what happens. HURM. Makes me wonder

but anyhoo.. the movie reminds me of a certain someone. BUt then again, in short, sometimes, things that are right in front of you are actually what you really need in the end. no?

One question for mens out there, why is it commitment is such a scary thing ah? can die can go to jail can have aids ah? 

Okay next up.

The Happening. ZOMG. I wasn’t a big fan of Shyamalan and i think there’s a reason for that. The happening is a movie of nothing happening at all. dammit. Seriously a waste of my time. I hate movies that makes me go… HUH? THAT’S ALL??? fuck. But it’s not THAT bad lah actually, i was just exaggerating because that’s what i always do when a movie dissapoints me. :( 

But seriously, the earth is trying to tell us something so why dont we all just listen aite?

There were a few other movies that i watched but i forgot. bleh.

Can the Government subsidise? I am the “adviser” to Petronas but I know very little about it beyond what is published in its accounts. What I do know may not be very accurate but should be sufficient for me to draw certain conclusions.

Roughly Malaysia produces 650,000 barrels of crude per day. We consume 400,000 barrels leaving 250,000 barrels to be exported.

Three years ago the selling price of crude was about USD30 per barrel. Today it is USD130 – an increase of USD100. There is hardly any increase in the production cost so that the extra USD100 can be considered as pure profit.

Our 250,000 barrels of export should earn us 250,000 x 100 x 365 x 3 = RM27,375,000,000 (twenty seven billion Ringgit).

But Petronas made a profit of well over RM70 billion, all of which belong to the Government.

By all accounts the Government is flushed with money.

Initially i had plans for a lot of travelling but looks like its all flushed to the drain now. :(

Looks like the Roxy ~ seventeen summer splash @ lagoon tomorrow  will be my comeback. Yesterday and the day before that i have resolved to staying at home and not going out altho i had plans to go places, i simply just had to cancel them. If you bump into me tomorrow, camwhore!~ 

The school holiday’s going to end this week and this means that by next week… the traffic is back or maybe not idk. but i have decided to just take the LRT for all its worth. Driving is still affordable. But Parking isn’t. Sometimes i had to pay RM30 per day for parking alone and season parking is RM450 MINIMUM so go figure. I earn a lot but i REFUSE to let it all away just for parking or fuel or food even. as typical a girl i am.. i rather spend it on clothes :) . Or at least something more tangible and long lasting.. 

:( sigh. i still feel sad. 

The price of food at my place has already increased yesterday. That’s too soon for me to even think that it will happen.

I was taken aback when a few friends of mine question my being angry and that there is NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT. In a few weeks time the pressure will  subside and everyone elses tank will be empty and they still will go to the petrol station and pump RM2.70 for a litre and there’s nothing anyone at all can do about it.right?

WRONG.

1. Im VERY upset with the fact that MALAYSIANS have this tidak apa attitude and they take everything being told to them just like that. What the hell happened to the 5Ws. WHY WHERE WHEN WHO WHICH? Seriously.

Do all of you read the papers and just take it as it is?

2.  Last year during one of the PM’S speech, he told the nation that PETRONAS generated a 80 BILLION PROFIT. P.R.O.F.I.T. (CLEAN EARNING FOR THE COUNTRY) and that is actually before the price hike and all. What happened to the 80 BILLION? Has a balance sheet being shown to the country on what the 80billion was used for? For the RM2.70 petrol price hike, he told the nation that this is necessary for the gov. is spending 56 BILLION (56 000 000 000) per annum for the subsidize petrol and diesel for the citizen. He said the gov could not AFFORD to do that anymore due to the price hike in the market price of petrol and diesel and therefore the petrol subsidy will be reduced and WE would have to EVENTUALLY pay the market price of our petrol.

SAID THE PM. 

And so… What happened to the 80 BILLION? WHO WHEN WHAT WHICH WHY WHERE did the 80 BILLION go to? To the moon for some kinda astronaut? To build some sport centre overseas for our athletes abroad? To pay for some eye of Malaysia rental and maintenance feee? Or to some few million ink that was purchased and not used during the GE?  80 BILLION. THAT’S 80 000 000 000.  WHERE DID IT GO. have you ever question that my dear MALAYSIANS? 

That 80 billion could have been placed to proper used like for example to COVER the 56 billion petrol subsidy for the NATION. 

Before the GE, the PM promises that there will not be any HIKE on petrol prices but look what happened today.

DID YOU QUESTION THAT MALAYSIANS? DID YOU?

Is what the government doing transparent to us? Have you ever question that?

2. We are an OIL PRODUCING COUNTRY. We sell our high quality petrol to other country and purchase lower quality (petrol with higher sulphur content) to malaysians at MARKET PRICE. deal with it?

In the past 3-4 years… OUR PETROL PRICE have doubled and in a few months time, rumour has it that the whole subsidy thing will completely be abolished. Meaning paying a minimum of RM4 per litre petrol. DEAL WITH IT?

Following such a steep increase in petrol price, prices of other goods are bound to rise and hence the cost of living will rocket. More miseries are in store for the rakyat especially the middle and low income groups. How about those poor lower income citizens? Like say…. bus drivers, lorry drivers… etc. Do any of you think they can DEAL WITH IT?

Now let us compare the price of petrol in OIL PRODUCING countries

UAE– RM1.19/litre
Eygpt– RM1.03/litre
Bahrain– RM0.87/litre
Qatar– RM0.68/litre
Kuwait– RM0.67/litre
Saudi Arabia– RM0.38/litre
Iran– RM0.35/litre
Nigeria– RM0.32/litre
Turkmenistan– RM0.25/litre
Venezuela– RM0.16/litre
MALAYSIA– RM2.70/litre

hell. are we still debating this topic. It’s so frustrating just KNOWING and thinking that inflation is going to hit us hard this time since everything is increasing.

My mum told me the price of rice has increased. The electricity price has increased. Petrol price increased. Food? I heard MCD already have a new pricing and yes. it has increased. so are we suppose to just DEAL with it since our income is still the same?

How about increase in public transportation prices since the fuel is going to hike up now. Toll prices. 

Heck.. i don’t think i will get my dose of teh tarik and roti canai at RM1 ANYMORE.

Having increased the price of petrol by such a hefty amount (40%), the government should WASTE NO TIME in opening more routes for buses and trains and increasing their frequency of service so as to alleviate the hardship of the middle and low income groups of the Malaysian society.

Just thinking that the GOV make rulings using  a vehicle’s CC and paying rebates based on is really as doubtful as it gets. 

ANd why is it are we paying twice or at least 50% more on our car prices than other countries? a freaking 1.6CC PROTON GEN 2 cost at 60K now. Dollar to dollar wise, 60K can be paid for other bigger SUVS like TOYOTA and HONDA in other countries.

so are we suppose to still deal with it?

4. WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT?

A lot of people question me about this. So why am i being so angry and irrational and make such a big hu ha out of this when i spent a lot on shopping and other things but shout on a RM2.70 per litre petrol.

why?

Because it WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Raising the cost of petrol will eventually raise the cost of living and everything else for it matters. 

So i am making a noise out of this but then what? what am i going to do? My petrol will still run out and i will still go and filll it up at the end of the day? Not like im going to buy a bicycle or something.

NO.

I’m afraid its not that simple when we say things like that or say that we just have to deal with it because there is always something we can do about EVERYTHING.

Like say… 

DEMAND FOR A MORE TRANSPARENT GOV. Make profits earn by our oil exporting companies visible to the public.

VOTE. or ELECT your GOVERNMENT WISELY. and not just mere SAYING IT. DO IT.

QUESTION EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS AROUND YOU. AND NOT JUST ACCEPTING FACT AS IT IS.

DEMAND. FOR A BETTER PUBLIC TRANSPORT.

DEMAND FOR PRICE INCREASES TO NOT HAPPEN.

LIVE ON A BUDGET. KNOW THE 5WS WHEN SPENDING. SPEND WISELY.

LET me do a simple calculation just to JUSTIFY WHY 78CENTS MEANS A LOT TO A COMMON JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE GIRL LIKE ME

My 1.6A NEO’S 45L tank

Before price hike :: RM1.92 x 45 = RM86.40 for Full tank. But sometimes i got RM96++ fuck
After price hike :: RM2.70 X 45 =  RM121.50

THAT’S AN INCREASE OF RM35.10 OKAY.

I pump my petrol full tank weekly and sometimes even twice a week.

If i just pump it once a week… That means and increase of RM140.10 PER MONTH

AND RM1684.80 PER YEAR OKAY.

WHAT CAN RM 652 DO FOR ME I WONDER. 

And what if i go for long distance travelling? like for example.. BACK TO MY HOME AT IPOH?

AND WONT THIS STUPID PRICE HIKE CAUSE A MAJOR HIKE IN EVERYTHING ELSE?

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Wednesday announced price hikes for petrol, diesel and electricity.

He said the new price for petrol is RM2.70 a litre, effective midnight tonight. The price goes up by 78sen from the current RM1.92, a hike of 40%.

Abdullah also announced that the price of diesel would be increased by RM1 from RM1.58 to RM2.58.

He also said that Tenaga Nasional Bhd would be raising electricity rates by 18% for homes and 26% for business users.

The announcements are part of the new fuel subsidy plan.

Abdullah also announced a RM625 annual cash rebate per vehicle, for owners of private vehicles with engine capacities of up to 2,000cc, as well as pickup trucks and jeeps with engine capacities of up to 2,500cc.

Owners of private motorcycles with engine capacities of up to 250cc will receive RM150.

Payment will be made via Money Order upon renewal of road tax, from July 1.

For owners of private vehicles with engine capacities exceeding 2000cc, road tax will be reduced by RM200.

Owners of private motorcycles with engine capacities above 250 cc will get RM50 reduction in road tax.

Just reading this para makes me feel morbid and sullen in a way.

10,000 alone, died, in Bogalay Myanmar and that is not included the other city as well. While in China, More than 50,000 died, and the casualty figure is still in the rise.

Many people have lost their parents, spouse or children. Coupled with losing their homes and personal belongings, the psychological needs for survivors are enormous. Supporting the emotional recovery of survivors is urgently needed and to help people during this time of high emotional stress.
